FAQs

Q. Who can attend Soft?
A. Anyone in the trade. Soft is a purely trade event and NOT open to the public. You will need to bring identification of trade status.

Q. How can I pre-register for the show?
A. Click here to pre-register to attend Soft. You are only required to register once to enter Soft plus all other co-located Interiors Events.

Q. When will I receive my badge?
A. You will receive your badge approximately 2 weeks before the show together with the Show Preview to help your plan your time at the event.

Q. Where does my badge allow me access to?
A. Your Soft badge allows you free entry to all shows at The Interiors Event including Design Interiors, The Furniture Show, Furnishing Accessories, Collection, Outdoor Collection, The Lighting Show and Lighting Collection.

Q. What if I have forgotten my badge when I arrive at the show?
A. Just go to the registration desks in the Hall 12 entrance and give the staff your name, they will locate your details on the computer and issue you with a new badge.

Q. Can I register on-site?
A. Yes, but if you have not pre-registered you will have to pay a £15 entry fee and complete a registration form at the entrance.

Q. If I register on-site and pay the £15 entrance fee, will I have to pay again if I wish to return to the show another day?
A. No, once you have received your badge you can return to any of the shows as many times as you wish!

Q. What time do the doors open?
A. The halls open for visitors at 9am everyday. Please refer to the Travel & Stay page for full details of show opening hours and how to get to the NEC, Birmingham.

Q. How do I find my way around the show once I have arrived?
A. You Are Here boards are located at each of the registration entrances and all halls have large banners illustrating the hall layout. If you pre-registered for Soft you can use the Show Preview sent with your badge to plan your visit before the show and it’s compact size means it’s easy to use on-site to guide you around the halls. In addition the friendly Ask Me team will be roaming the show and will be on hand to help you with anything you may need.

Q. Is there a cloakroom for bags and coats?
A. Cloakrooms are situated adjacent to the hall entrances and are open daily until twenty minutes after the close of the exhibition. The charge per item is £1.

Q. Can I bring children?
A. There is strictly no admittance to children.

Q. I am a student, am I able to attend the event?
A. Students are permitted entry to Soft via prior arrangement only. Please email Kali Nicholson on knicholson@cmpi.biz for further information and guidelines.

Q. Where can I eat?
Themed cafés serving light snacks and refreshments can be found within the halls alongside numerous bars, restaurants and seating areas offering anything from a quick drink to a more substantial meal.

Q. Is there a cashpoint?
A. Full banking facilities are available at the Natwest Bank located in the Piazza outside Hall 4. Cashpoints are located adjacent to Hall 1 and in the Atrium, opposite Hall 8 and next to Hall 9.

Q. Where can I find information about accommodation and where to go in the evening?
A. Check out the Travel & Stay page on the website for details of accommodation, where to eat and where to shop in Birmingham.

Q. Are there disabled facilities at the NEC?
All levels of The NEC are accessible to wheelchair users, via ramps or lifts. The Piazza and Atrium main entrances have automatic doors. The NEC has wheelchairs available for hire, please telephone +44 (0) 121 780 4141 to book in advance. Q. I require an invitation letter to assist with my visa application. How do I apply?
A. Please refer to www.ukvisas.gov.uk for full information on how to obtain a visa to visit the UK. We can only issue an invitation letter once you have registered for the show, and proof of registration will be required. Please click here to apply.

Q. I am an International visitor to the show, how do I obtain my badge onsite?
A. Touchscreen computers will be located at all registration points of Interiors Birmingham. Type in your unique reference number, which you received during the online registration process. Your badge will be printed off automatically.
